Aberfeldy 18 Year Old - Sangiovese Italian Wine Cask
This limited-release Highland single malt showcases Aberfeldy’s honeyed signature, enriched through a finish in first-fill Sangiovese red wine casks from Tuscany’s Valdarno di Sopra region. Initially matured in a mix of refill and hogshead casks, it is bottled at natural colour and non-chill filtered at 46% ABV.
Tasting Notes
Nose
Juicy red berries, baked apple, and heather honey, with hints of sandalwood, nutmeg, and dark cherry.
Palate
Red fruit compote and rich malt, followed by layers of dark chocolate, clove, and roasted hazelnut.
Finish
Soft spice, and a final flourish of oak and cherry liqueur.
